Comparison between Fe-, Ni- and Cu- as the oxygen carriers in chemical looping combustion reactors

Due to the growth of industries in the world after the industrial revolution, the emission of greenhouse gases increased and concerns about the control of these dangerous gases forced people to think of a way to control these gases involves carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides. One of the best proposed methods to control these gases so far has been the performance of chemical looping combustion reactors with the inherent ability to emit carbon dioxide. Preventing NOx productions and CO2 emissions are the reasons for the popularity of chemical looping combustion (CLC) reactors in recent years. The CLC reactor is considered as a dual fluidized bed reactor consists of an air reactor that is high-speed and a fuel reactor that is the bubble bed with the methane as the fuel. In this study, the reduction rate and the methane concentration in the fuel reactor have been compared with different oxygen carriers involves Fe-, Ni- and Cu- in different temperature ranges.
