Effect of Pore Size Distribution on Simultaneous Diffusion and Reaction in a Porous media Using Pore Network Modeling

Abstract
Pore network modeling has been extensively used for simulating various physical and chemical phenomena in porous media. In this study, a two-dimensional pore network modeling is applied to determine concentration profile inside a porous particle with reaction. This discrete model explores a reactive pellet from single site to particle. A regular disk domain pore network model with variying pore size is used. A first order reaction was considered inside pores. The concentration profile for different pore size distibution are sketched and compared to each other. The rersults revealed that the non-uniform pore networks with high dispersion of pore radius had the better performance than the uniform one.
