Abstract
The aim of this research is to design the continuous packed bed photoreactor to remove methylene blue from wastewater using TiO2-reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite coated on extruded metakaolinite support. The successful immobilization process was performed via sol-gel method and the characterization of coated support was carried out by X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and Field emission scanning electron microscopy. The efficiency of photoreactor was spectroscopically studied at different wastewater flow rates and residence times. The obtained results showed that the high degradation efficiency, 72%, can be received under 180 min of solar light irradiation at minimum wastewater flow rate, 62.5 ml.min-1.
