Abstract
Polymer flooding is one of the most commonly used techniques for improving the oil recovery; however, its application is dependent on the technical and economic feasibility along with the knowledge of the risks involved. Polymers could be used for reduction of unwanted water as a profile control agent. In this paper, COMSOL Multiphysics was utilized to study on the effect of wettability on the two-phase (oil/water) flow in porous medium at micro-scale. Cahn-Hilliard phase field equation was solved by finite element approach using adaptive mesh refinement technique in a micro-model. Results showed that more recovery factor was obtained by decreasing the contact angle value.
