Role of artificial intelligence network model for predicting of iron, manganese and ammonia of drinking water in a green sand fixed bed

Usually iron and manganese are found in groundwater and ammonia is one of common pollutants in urban, agriculture and industrial wastewater. Fixed bed of green sand was used as adsorbent system to remove iron, manganese and ammonia from aqueous solution. Flow rate of aqueous solution was changed from 50 to 80 ml/min and mass of adsorbent was changed from 15 to 25 gr and the change of outlet concentration with time was recorded at each flow rate and mass of adsorbent. The outlet concentration predicted by using artificial neural network (ANN) and Bayesian belief network (BBN). Finally results have been compared with experimental date and a good agreement has been seen between experimental and predicted concentration.
