Fabrication of novel polyethylene glycol/polyvinylidene fluoride Nanofibers/spheres composite via electrospinning

Abstract
Polyethylene glycol (PEG)/polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers/ Nanospheres composite were fabricated using coaxial electrospinning. In the composite nanofibers, PEG and PVDF blending solutions were coaxially electrospun (e-spun) through a spinneret and using a high-voltage power supply. The electrospinnability of the blending solutions was also investigated by varying the blending ratio of the PEG and PVDF, and it enhanced with the increase of PEG content. The novel structure of the e-spun composite nanofiber was confirmed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). SEM results showed that the fibers size was varied in the range of 70 nm-250 nm with smooth surface and coreeshell structure.
