In this paper is investigated the kinetic reaction model for biomass biofuel production processes. Microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris) biomass contains a complex mixture such as carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins that are good raw material for bio-oil. Microalgae biooil was used for biodiesel production. Simulation was performed using Aspen software to produce biodiesel from biooil. This model is an extension of an biodiesel model in Aspen Plus. The biodiesel model provides a useful description of the process, especially introducing the kinetics of transesterification into the process. The distribution of various byproducts and products can be linked to cost data for calculating the material costs from various feedstocks.
