Effect of steam addition to dry reforming of glycerol over the nanocrystalline 10Ni/ Al2O3-La2O3 catalyst

In this research, the effect of steam addition on the performance of the 10Ni/Al2O3-La2O3 nanocrystalline catalyst in CO2 reforming of glycerol was investigatred. La2O3-Al2O3 catalyst support was prepared by simple solid state method and nickel was added by impregnation rout. BET surface area of the 10Ni/ La2O3-Al2O3 catalyst was 30 m2 gcat-1 and the catalyst possessed the mean pore diameter and particle size of 16.6 and 33.3 nm respectively. It was found that addition of steam caused an increase in glycerol conversion but decreased carbon monoxide yield. In addition, the H2/CO ratio of the produced syngas was increased by adding steam to the dry reforming reactant mixture.
