The recovery of valuable elements from the leaching solution of copper anode slime by utilizing a hollow fibre liquid membrane (HFRLM)

During the electro refining of copper, some metals are accumulated in the copper anode slime, which is an important source for recovery of these metals. In this paper, a new liquid membrane technology has been used for the recovery of precious metals such as selenium and tellurium from the leaching solution obtained from copper anode slime of Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex. Results show the higher recovery of Te ions than Se, which reveal the intensification potential of proposed HFRLM technique for selective extraction of Te over Se with separation factor higher than 7.5. In addition, the HFRLM method shows satisfactory stability for 270 min of continuous operation.
