Abstract
In this study Montmorillonite amphiphilic acrylamide-acrylic nanogel composite was prepared .The Montmorillonite nanogel composite was prepared by efficient dispersion of silane-based closite 30b nanoparticles in the copolymer gel of acrylamide (AAm) and acrylic acid (AA) cross-linked with N,N′-methylene bis-acrylamide (MBA). The chemical structure, morphology, and the synthesized nanogel composite were assessed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and EDS elemental with map illustrations. The FTIR proved the successful surface modification of nanoclay and the existence of other elements in the nanocomposite. The morphological surface of the prepared nanogel was investigated using FESEM and the formation of nanoclay/AAm/AA nanogel composite was also confirmed with both map distributions and EDS results.
