CO2 capture via adsorption: a preliminary modelling study

For reducing the greenhouse gases emission such as carbon dioxide (CO2), adsorption process is one of the promising methods. In order to the important role of the adsorbents in adsorption separation processes, different novel adsorbents have been studied in presence of CO2. In this study, CO2 adsorption isotherms through the aforementioned adsorbents have been investigated and compared. Different isotherm models have been used to model the experimental isotherm data gathered from the literature. Then, the appropriate isotherm model for each adsorbent was selected by comparing the R-squared error. Finally, the adsorbents were sorted in terms of descending order of CO2 uptake.
