Design and fabrication of a microreactor applicable in catalytic experiments

In recent years, catalytic microreactor has attracted a good deal of attention. In this study, a design and fabrication of such a device have been undertaken. In this venue, with the aid of the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), a new distributor for a microreactor with 24 microchannels with dimensions of 700×700 μm and 64 mm was designed and its performance was investigated. All CFD outcomes including the; velocity streamline, velocity magnitude at each channel as well as pressure drop along with the microchannel confirmed the very satisfying performance of the distributor. Ultimately, a newly designed microreactor was fabricated on stainless steel with laser milling as well as CNC machining.
