Water pollution is a major concern and these days heavy metals removal is a challenging work. Adsorption is one of the most efficient techniques for removing noxious heavy metals from the solvent phase. This study aims the novel application of non-thermal plasma treatment to improve Graphene Oxide (GO) adsorption capacity by increasing oxygen functional groups. It was examined by using Oxygen, Air and Nitrogen gas in Cadmium removal. Results indicate that the plasma treated GO by oxygen gas has increased the adsorption capacity by 7.8%. The Cadmium removal was maximum (99.06%) at gas pressure 0.45 mbar, power supply 100 watt and plasma processing time 4 minutes.
