Abstract
Adsorption cycle is a practical and inexpensive method of desalinating the saline and
brackish water to produce potable water for both industrial and residential applications. In this article, thermodynamic modeling of adsorption desalination systems (ADS) is studied. The advanced operation cycle with mass and heat recovery between the beds, the condenser, and the evaporator have been carried out. The particular ADS thermodynamic mathematical model is developed and it is validated against experimental data reported in the literature. Also, the performance of the advanced adsorption desalination system with mass and heat recovery between the beds, the condenser, and the evaporator is investigated. The specific daily water production (SDWP) of the advanced ADS cycle is 150% more than the conventional ADS cycle.
