Abstract
In the present work the numerical simulation of a chemical looping reforming (CLR) micro packed bed for syngas production is investigated. The reforming reactor known as fuel reactor is packed with Ni- based oxygen carrier and methane is the gaseous fuel. In this paper, an isothermal 1D packed bed reactor was simulated by finite element method and validated with experimental data available in literature. Furthermore, the effect of reactor temperature on product was investigated. It is concluded that temperature is an essential part of fuel reactor and it can be altered to reach specific value of H2/CO ratio for various application of syngas.
