Effect of Preparation Method of CuFe2O4 Catalysts on Methane Conversion in Catalytic Combustion

Abstract
Catalytic combustion has proven to be a suitable alternative to conventional flame combustion for heat and power production .metal oxides have recently attracted considerable attention as candidate catalysts for the catalytic combustion of methane which is the main component of the natural gas using in various industrial processes or as a fuel in turbines and vehicles. The effect of synthesis method (Sol gel and Co precipitation) on the catalytic activity was investigated. Co-precipitation catalyst showed better performance than the one synthesized by sol gel method at all temeperature. Avarage crystalline size of CuFe2O4 catalysts synthesized by co precipitation and sol-gel methods were 8.21 and 19.8 nm, respectively.
