Abstract
Investigation of the effective parameters in the electrospinning process to make a polyethersulfone (PES) polymeric membrane and the effect of adding Y zeolite nanoparticles on the structure and properties of the fibers are the purposes of this study. The investigated parameters in the electrospinning process include electric potential difference, the distance between needle and collector and feed rate of polymer solution. Finally, to fabricate the nanofibers, by investigation of the parameters, polymer solution with a concentration of 24% w/w was selected, potential difference 13 KV, feed rate1 ml/h and distance 20 cm. It is investigated the effect of the amount of nanoparticles at 0%, 0.1%,0.15%, 0.3% and 0.5% w/w concentrations relative to the weight of PES in polymer solution on the structure of nanofibers. The made membranes are characterized by SEM and contact angle test. The results showed that by increasing the amount of zeolite nanoparticles in the fibers, their hydrophobicity increased and also the presence of nanoparticles in the polymer solution, in the same electrospinning conditions, increased the fiber diameter and the fiber surface area is rugged, according to the concentration of nanoparticles.
