Effect of Elution Solution and Time on the Prepared Molecularly Imprinted Polymers on the Surface of Functionalized Fe3O4 Magnetic Nanoparticles for Separation of Human Insulin

Abstract
Molecular imprinting was carried out for separation of insulin by the use of methaacrylic acid (MAA) and acrylamide (AAm) as the functional monomers with a cross-linker of methylenebisacrylamide (MBAAm) on the surface of iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles. Coating and functionalization of the support was performed with TEOS and MPS, respectively. The effects of type of eluent solution and elution time were investigated on the release of insulin from molecularly imprinted polymers. The results indicated that the best condition of template removal can be obtained using 72 hours elution with acetic acid/methanol (1/9, v/v) solution for magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers synthetized in phosphate buffer (0.1 mol L-1, pH=6).
